Ok, so unless you’ve been living under a rock we all know that sun exposure and UVA/UVB rays in high doses are unhealthy for us. So it might be a little surprising to learn that Jess, Jackie, and I have ALL worked at tanning salons! Weird right?!? Go ahead, have a little chuckle on our behalf – can you imagine us supporting fake & bake? It was a long long time ago, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, but yes I have to fess up and admit all three of us are guilty as charged. It’s embarrassing to say the least, but let’s just go ahead and chalk it up to us being a little young and naïve. But don’t worry it’s all but a distant memory now… the bronzed reflection in the mirror, the worn and weather flesh, the ‘Oompa Loompa’ nicknames from innocent by-standers…
Now that we are all much older and more mature, the three of us know the extremely damaging effects of sun exposure and UVA/UVB rays. In fact, here at Glow we have some of the best, most highly-coveted sun defense options out there. We have over 13 different products with SPF options in their composition, and if you ask any aesthetician what their number one piece of advice would be it is – WEAR YOUR SUNSCREEN PEOPLE!
Our fan favorite SPF option would without a doubt be Eminence Organics Sun Defense Minerals. With an SPF of 30, these irresistible magical wands are easy to use, hypoallergenic, water-resistant, and provide coverage for both men & women. Sun Defense minerals come in six different shades, but be careful – they might steal your heart too.
For all of you that don’t know or can’t tell, Jane Iredale mineral makeup is one of our best selling products here in the Apothecary. The full coverage line is non-comedogenic, paraben & filler-free, and excellent for sensitive skin types or people with allergies. We all swear by this makeup and would never dare to wear anything else, which is why we felt so honored this Spring to be the first business in Arizona to receive the full Beauty Gallery Display!
With exclusive shades & colors, a selection of products that rivals MAC, and a killer new look – this new set-up is nothing short from show-stopping.
What are our favorite picks you ask? Well it’s hard to pick just one but if we had to reveal our insider secrets with you it would be the Forever Pink Cheek & Lip Stain, Lash Extender & Conditioner, or Rosedawn Quad Bronzer/Blush.
But between you and me, the Forever Pink is where it’s at. Did I mention that it develops with your own individual melanin to produce a color that’s exclusive to YOURSELF? Umm…can you say genius? Now I must be honest here and admit that although the color usually looks fantastic, for some reason it decides to turn a highlighter pink on me and only me. Maybe if I were still 5 years old, stomping around the house in my mom’s pleather pumps, and blissfully unaware that bright blue eye shadow was a hit in the 80’s it would be fine – but for today the highlighter pink lip is off limits! So for now I will relish in envy as I watch everyone else wear this beautiful product.
